To win or to lose
We all like to win, but we know that in life it is necessary to be prepared to lose, because we can’t always win.
When I was young, my hometown’s professional baseball team had perfected the art of losing. It was not easy seeing my favorite team constantly losing. After all, this was simply a sport, with no consequences on my life.
It would be nice if all the defeats in life were limited to sports. But we know that is not so. What is important is that as long as there is life we can enjoy another opportunity.
Life is a source of opportunity, but it does not last forever. It is therefore extremely important to focus our efforts to win in the most important areas of our lives: family, relationships, and God.
Our relationship with God directly impacts our relationships with our family and others. As we move away from God, our relationships worsen. As we get closer to God, our relationships improve. Which means God should be our number one priority.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28
To win when I lose? This seems to be a good deal! What would you do if you were invited to be part of the team that has a guaranteed championship?
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death … nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:37-39
Our time in this life will eventually expire, and eternity will take its place. Winning is within your reach. What are you going to do?
