Why?
In our previous blog we talked about the amount of bad news that we receive daily. We ask ourselves: Why so many bad news?
Some people rationalize that due to the evil that exists in the world, it is not possible for God to exist; because if there was a god, he would not allow evil. The truth is that the existence of evil does not explain the absence of God. On the other hand, we can explain the existence of evil as a result of our rejection of God.
The answers to our questions are not satisfied, and we keep God in the dock. Why this? Why that? Why? Why? Why? In our search for a logical answer, we forget to ask the most important question: Why did God give His Son for our sins? Such a demonstration of love is extremely difficult to understand.
The death and resurrection of Jesus is the only answer we need. His sacrifice cleanses us from all sin and evil.
Why, then, do we still see evil? We have to be careful about what we hope for. If God decided to end evil right now, many would be condemned.
All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one. – Romans 3:12
The time will come when God will end all evil. But for the moment, God in his love holds open the door of opportunity for salvation.
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. – 2 Peter 3:9
It is time for us to stop asking “why?” and start enjoying the new opportunity that God provides through faith in Jesus.
