Kingdom
No matter the established system of government, it seems that those who are elected to govern do so to satisfy their own interests. They forget those they represent and dedicate themselves to building their own kingdom.
Many begin with good intentions. But it seems that power corrupts people, away from their initial purpose. The government for all becomes the kingdom of one. The result is usually destruction.
The world population is approximately 7.5 billion people. If everyone could have a kingdom according to their own purpose, we would have 7.5 billion kingdoms. You may say: “That is not my case.” But let’s be honest. It is impossible to agree 100% with another person 100% of the time.
Do you need evidence? Adam and Eve lived in a place of complete perfection and in direct communion with God. They enjoyed a kingdom under the will of God. But this wasn’t enough. They wanted their own kingdom.
We do the same: Perhaps you will say: “I do not.” Do you agree 100% with God 100% of the time? Sometimes we judge God by the things he does or by the things that we think he should have done. In a way, we tell him that he is an incompetent.
This is why Jesus taught us to pray like this:
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. – Matthew 6:10
Being the leader of our own kingdom in a world where everyone wants to have their own kingdom only leads to war and destruction. If you watch local news, you will know what I mean.
When we choose our leaders, everyone chooses `who they believe is the best option. What if we choose who we know is the best option?
Choose to ask God to reign and do his will in your life.
